Daily operation

Each time the automatic cron job runs a short report showing a list of messages with errors and a summary giving totals of messages processed, their disposition and the loader's performance is sent to root. Normally this is purely informative and can be ignored, but any errors it reports must be investigated and corrected.

If any rejected messages are repairable they will appear in the error list and will be written to individual mbox format files in the directory defined by the error_output directive in maloader.conf where they can be inspected. At this point there are three options:

• If the message is not wanted, simply delete it,
• Otherwise, edit the message to correct the reported problem and then load it into the database by manually running MALoader with command line parameters that override the message provider and mailbox:

  runLoader -t=mstor -m=pathname_of_message

  The edit/resubmit cycle can be repeated as many times as needed. Delete the message file once it has been successfully loaded.
